Did you know you are what you eat?
Was
the ultimate plan of the Creator –God for humanity to eat from the plants of
the earth? Lets explore the importance of several foods for life in plant life.
Broccoli
The
power of the plant broccoli can’t ever be talked enough about. First, it is a
strong anti-aging vegetable (it has an also unbelievable array of antioxidants).
One of its strongest elements is suforaphane, which was discovered by scientists
at Johns Hopkins. Broccoli is loaded with many free radical fighters’ vitamins
C, beta-carotene, glutathione, quercetin, lutein and indoles. Broccoli helps the
body get rid harmful type of estrogen that promotes cancer in women. Broccoli is
very rich in chromium, a protector against the out of control insulin and blood
sugar in the body. Researchers have found that people with long cancer often
live longer eating broccoli. A broccoli eater extends his/her life longer.
Cabbage
Cabbage is similar to broccoli. It has potent antioxidant properties.
Researchers found that men who ate cabbage once a week compared to once a month
had only a six-sixty (66%) percent chance of colon cancer. Cabbage as a
cruciferous vegetable seems to deter prostate cancer, stomach and breast cancer.
Researcher points out that cabbage has antioxidant (indole-3-carbinol), which
accelerates the disposal of a harmful form of estrogen that promotes breast
cancer. The effects of raw or lightly cooked cabbage when eaten are most potent.
Spinach
Spinach is a green leafy vegetable with a variety of antioxidant. There
is an antioxidant in spinach that
is called lutein, another strong antioxidant is beta carotene. With these rich
antioxidants, spinach aid preventing macular degeneration, a potential cause of
blindness. Eating at least a cup of raw spinach or a half-cup of cooked spinach
daily may possible diminish the odds of cancer even among heavy smokers? Another
property spinach is rich in is folic acid (folic acid support the arteries of
the brain also fights cancer).
Avocado
It
is reported that eating avocado reduces and lowers blood cholesterol. This fruit
according to Researchers is rich in blood-vessel protective potassium. Although
it is reported to be high in fat, but much it is good fat-monounsaturated, a
type of fat that resists oxidation. Avocados have an abundance of glutathione
(which is considered to the master antioxidant).
Berries
Berries
such as cranberries, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries are all filled with
antioxidants that savage us from premature aging. They have more antioxidants
called anthocyanins than any other food; they are more loaded than even second
richest sources, green tea or red wine. Cranberries and blueberries is
supportive to healing urinary tract infections. There was a study that showed
aged person who ate strawberries had the lowest rate of all kind of cancer. Most
all berries are very rich in the antioxidant vitamin C.
Grapes
According
to the University of California at Davis, grapes are know to have over twenty
known antioxidants that works together to ward off oxygen free radical attacks
that promote disease and aging. These antioxidants are in the skin of the
grapes, in fact the more color the grape skins (red and purple) the more
powerful they are. Grape antioxidants have anti-clogging activity, inhibit
oxidation of LDL cholesterol and relax blood vessels. Recent tests at the
Wisconsin University showed that three (3) glasses of purple grape juice and one
glass of red wine have same anti-clotting effects within one artery. Dried
grapes, such as raisins contain even higher concentrations of anti-aging
compound than fresh grapes. A serving of raisins have three to five times more
antioxidants than the same size serving in fresh grapes.
Carrots
A recent
study at Harvard University found that women who ate carrots at least five times
week reduced their chances of experiencing a stroke of any sort almost seventy
percent (70%). Carrots has been proven through several studies have very
supportive to good health, from lowering cholesterol to prevention of aging and
diseases. Beta-carotene in carrots has shown to reduce lung cancer and aid in
prevention of heart attacks as well as various cancers. One medium size carrot
contains about six (6) of beta-carotene. I drink carrot juice and have found it
very supportive to my health. A cup of carrot juice contains twenty-four (24)
milligrams of beta-carotene.
Garlic
Probably, the most ancient of all herbs, garlic is respected as a powerful
antioxidant. It is a known for defense against clogging of artery, supportive
against degenerative brain function. Just a clove a day, raw or cooked is
sufficient.
Onions
Onions are in kinship with garlic. It to has several antioxidants, body
supportive and anti-aging properties. It is filled with antioxidants that
support blood thinning, discouraging clots, stomach cancer; red and yellow
onions are the richest in raising good type HDL cholesterol. It has
antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiviral activity. Researcher have onions keeps bad LDL cholesterol from turning
toxic and attacking arteries. Onions limit fats such as butter to initiate
formation of blood clots to clog arteries. In certain animals, onions have been
used to dissolve blood clots.
Tomatoes
A tomato is packed with reliable source of antioxidant power. It has
richest source of lycopene. Lycopene is very powerful in pushing out free
radicals. Research has shown that the tomato chemistry reduces our risk
pancreatic and cervical cancer. Further studies shows that mostly raw tomatoes
are supportive against cancers of the digestive tract, oral cavity, pharynx,
esophagus, stomach, colon, and rectum and anal. The chemistry of the tomato
suppresses the formation of cancer – causing cells. Any and every thing about
the tomato, its juice, sauces, or canned is a potent power for our bodies.
Citrus
Fruit
There are studies that has shown the citrus fruits such as grapefruit are
orange the master antioxidants among citrus fruits. The National Cancer
Institute calls it a complete package for it
includes vitamin C, carotenoids, flavonoids, terpenes; these antioxidants
are known to dramatically reduce cholesterol and build the immune system.
Grapefruit contains the very thing we call the master antioxidant-glutsthione
that fights off all kinds of free radical that damage cells and can work
problems in the human body.
God

God placed man and woman in a garden in the beginning of humanity, which
goes to say this was God intent for mankind to “eat out of the garden.”
”It is certain if we eat more fruits and vegetables (less meat) the
consequences of unhealthy aging and perhaps short life spans would be avoided.
The truth is Vegetarians live longer and are healthier! It seems if we eat more
fruits and vegetables (less meat) this will increase our quality of life to its
maximum returns. The facts are vegetarians are less to die of a heart
disease at 28% percent than others; 39% less likely to die of cancer than others
(particular meat eaters). The proof of obese vegetarians who smoke (with extra
body mass) were less likely not to die before “smoking obese meat
eaters.” Death rate increases among meat eaters who switched from a vegetarian
diet. Vegetarians have less colon cancer; along with having less Type II
diabetes, kidney stones, arthritis, gall stones. The vegetarians obviously have
a stronger immune system. Health Care experts seems all to agree that
vegetarians are more healthier, maintain youth longer, live longer because they
eat more plant life and avoided meats. With
the higher level of plant antioxidant in their diet they are able to with stand
chronic diseases. Their ability to fight free radical activity is much great
than those who do not have such a diet. Vegetarians have fewer calories, lesser
fat consumptions in their diet. The plan of the Creator was for mankind to
live off plant life.
